Wedding Duo Oxford - Alex & Jacques - FAQs
How much space do you need?
3 x 2 metres is ideal but the band can work in a smaller space if necessary – this can be discussed prior to the event.
How is it best to time things?
The duo will require 2 hours for set up and sound check, this can be done as quietly as possible so that it will not interfere with your event. If you would like the band to arrive/set up significantly earlier in the day, please contact our agency to discuss.
Can I pick the bands playlist?
You are welcome to select songs from our repertoire and provide in advance if you wish, however the band have extensive experience of reading the room, and selecting a set that flows well and caters to the mood of the event.
Where will you travel to?
Please contact our agency for this information.
Can I see you play live?
Alex and Jacques perform primarily at private functions, weddings and corporate events, and therefore, these gigs are unfortunately not open to the public.
Will you learn our special song?
Not usually, but we would be happy to discuss and consider. It would depend on whether we could do the song justice for you, and incorporate it into our set for future events
Is the video on your website a true reflection of the band?
Yes indeed. It is the band playing 100% live. If you like the video, we think you will be even more impressed when you see us!
How do I book you?
Please book via the calendar widget in the right sidebar of this site or the Alive Network Entertainment Agency website.
Are you able to DJ in between sets?
We don’t not provide a DJ service however, our PA is always available for you to play your own playlist through via ipod/phone/tablet etc if you so wish. Alternatively we can play our own choice of background music in between sets and before/after the show if required. This can be specified prior to the event.
Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?
See above.
Can we use your sound system for speeches?
Yes of course! The PA will be made available for any speeches or announcements you require once we have set up.
What equipment do you use?
We have a 2800 Watt PA system with tops and subs. This can deal with anything from a small function room, to a larger hall with ease.
Do you have lights?
We have an elevated multi colour LED rack. As with the PA system this is equally able to deal with both large and small venues to create a lively atmosphere!
How long do you play for?
Typically the duo plays 2x sets of 60 minutes each. Alternatively, if more fitting for your event we can play different combinations such as 1x 120 minutes or 3x 40 minutes etc.
What time do you start and finish?
This will depend on the needs of your event and can be discussed!
How long do you take to set up?
Typically we ask 2 hours to set up and sound check our equipment. We ask this amount of time in order to get the best possible sound for the venue (every venue has a different sound!).
Can I provisionally book you?
Please discuss this with Alive Network.
What if the band split up before my event?
This is very unlikely, we are a solid unit! If this were to happen, Alive Network would be very helpful in making sure your special event continued as planned.
Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?
We care greatly about our professional sound and usually feel it is better that we politely decline requests like this (especially on the night), but if you have a particular song that you feel you could do justice we would be willing to discuss!
What will the band wear?
We have range of clothes, usually more on the casual side but are perfectly happy to dress smart if this is more fitting to your event – this can be discussed.
Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?
Not fully at present, but this can be arranged if the venue requires it.
Why should I book Alex and Jacques?
A powerful and gritty live sound, great musicianship and stunning lead vocal, complemented by tight, uplifting three part harmonies. Our aim is that your guests will never forget your event!
How much does it cost to book the band?
This is dictated by distance, requirement for overnight stops, etc. Please refer to Alive Network.
